Bio on Joachim Kähler, Nofence CEO (short version) Joachim Kähler is CEO of Nofence, the Norwegian technology company behind one of the world’s leading virtual fencing systems for livestock. Since joining in 2024, he has led the company’s international scale-up, expanding operations from three to six markets with a strong focus on the US. Previously, Kähler was VP of Strategy at reMarkable, where he helped define and scale the global paper tablet category into a multi-billion-dollar market.
Chief Product and Technology Officer at Nofence, brings over two decades of experience leading and building scalable technology organizations. His previous roles included engineering and leadership positions at Apple, VMware, and Contentful. Before joining Nofence, he served as CTO at TWAICE, a battery analytics company. In 2026, he joined Nofence after the company secured its Series B funding round. His responsibilities now encompass product and technology development across hardware, software, and driving new technology research. Jeffrey is enthusiastic about leveraging modern technology to address one of agriculture’s most enduring challenges and sees substantial opportunities for Nofence to expand its offerings into areas like animal health, herd monitoring, and artificial intelligence assisted livestock management. An American by background, he is committed to making Nofence more data-driven while fostering stronger customer empathy within the organization as it embarks on its next phase of growth.
As VP Product at Nofence, Savina Velkova brings more than a decade of experience building profitable, user friendly products, with a background spanning Oda, Workplace by Facebook (now Meta) and BrightTALK across company stages from a VC backed startup in San Francisco to profitable big tech in London. At Oda she balanced short term impact with long term vision and served on the Board of Directors through two demanding years, experience she now draws on for Nofence's own scaleup journey. She joined Nofence at what she sees as an inflection point for the company, drawn by a mission she considers important both economically and environmentally, alongside a product she believes in and a team she rates highly. Originally from Bulgaria, Savina has lived in San Francisco, London and Buenos Aires, and is now settled in Oslo with her Norwegian husband and two daughters.

As Head of Sweden at Nofence, Jakob is a serial tech entrepreneur with a broad background in building and commercializing technologies that drastically improve monitoring and management across diverse fields—from solar energy plants and heart failure patients to, now, livestock. His ultimate mission is to enable meaningful and widespread adoption of Nofence’s proven technology on the Swedish market. Driven by a deep passion for sustainable food production, land restoration, and making life easier for everyday farmers, he operates at the intersection of his professional expertise and the industry closest to his heart. Jakob lives on a historic 17th-century farm, where sheep and cattle are restoring overgrown pastures on his property and neighboring lands.
Julian is Head of Spain at Nofence. In this role, he leads commercial strategy and market expansion for Nofence in Spain combining business strategy, marketing, and sales team development. He is an Argentinian agronomist with 10 years of experience in the ag and livestock sector, former startup founder and alongside his work at Nofence he's also started a small Angus cattle operation in Navarra.
Lars Olav is interim Country Manager for Norway. In this role, he leads commercial strategy and market expansion for Nofence in Norway combining business strategy, marketing, and sales & support team development. He grew up on a dairy farm in rural Norway, is educated as an economist and has national and international experience from the ag-tech industry, public policy and management consulting. Norwegian market Norway is Nofence's pioneer market, where it all started in a small town on the west coast. We have served customers across the entire country for more than 10 years. From large-scale operations in the eastern and central parts to smallholders in valleys, fjords and mountains, our products serve a vast range of customers across cattle, sheep and goat.
As Senior Sales Executive for Ireland at Nofence, John Maher brings a lifelong grounding in agriculture to the role, coming from a dairy farming background in county Laois, where his family already run Nofence collars on their own replacement heifers. He joined the Nofence team in 2026, drawn by the chance to bring virtual fencing to Irish farmers as the technology reaches a defining moment in the market. John works at the intersection of his own farming background and the sector he has spent his life around, and is excited for what the launch of Nofence's new N3 cattle collar means for Irish farming.
As Senior Sales Executive for the UK at Nofence, Finlay leads outbound sales and business development across the UK, Ireland and emerging European markets, identifying commercial opportunities and supporting Nofence's international growth. He joined the team in 2024 as a Sales Associate, building the business across the UK and Ireland through prospecting and relationship building, and stepped into his current role in 2025. Working out of Nofence's Shifnal office, he is a familiar face at UK farming events, from Cereals to industry podcasts, talking with farmers about what virtual fencing changes day to day. Finlay grew up in Herefordshire working on a variety of different farming operations in his youth, bringing a background in agriculture and logistics to the role.
Eric Yates helps ranchers unlock new opportunities with livestock management technology as the US National Sales Director for Nofence, a precision livestock management platform. Eric and his family also run a commercial cow/calf operation in east Texas. He joined Nofence in June 2025 and has been at the forefront of virtual fencing in the US since 2023. Eric has spent his entire career in the cattle industry including more than a decade in animal health sales with Merial and Merck, to now leading the charge in transforming grazing management for herds across the US. His blend of industry expertise, hands-on ranching experience, and passion for innovation make him a trusted voice in the future of the livestock industry.
